Ray J has said he is “considering all options” in response to his depiction in Kanye West’s highly publicised recent video.
Over the weekend, West dropped the video for “Famous” from his album The Life of Pablo. The video features 12 wax-doll like representations of some of the most high-profile and controversial public figures including Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Caitlyn Jenner, former President George W Bush and his wife Kim Kardashian-West lying naked in bed alongside each other.
The rapper said the video is a “comment on fame”, however, given the provocative nature of the video it has already been branded controversial and met with some objection.
Perhaps anticipating negative reaction, West reportedly wrote in a now deleted tweet on Saturday: “Can somebody sue me already #I’llwait.”
Ray J, who appears next to Kardashian-West in the video, dated her in 2007 and a sex tape of the couple leaked online. When contacted by Buzzfeed, a representative for Ray J said they are “considering all options in regard to this video”.
At the BET awards on Sunday, Ray J appeared less than impressed, saying his fiancee was equally unhappy about him being portrayed in the video.
“I’m just trying to stay positive, I’m engaged,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “My marriage is all messed up because of craziness. I’m not part of nothing crazy.
“I’m trying to walk down a good path, my fiancee’s tripping. It’s all bad in my world and that ain’t cool… don’t put me a part of nothing, that’s weird, that don’t make no sense. Can I grow up?”
The video has received criticism for misogyny after it depicted Rihanna next to her former partner Chris Brown, who pleaded guilty to assaulting the star in 2009.
